Kidney Equity Initiative
Why Kidney Health Education Matters
Kidney disease can develop with few noticeable symptoms, making awareness of risk factors and prevention especially important. Kidney Equity Initiative works to make evidence-based kidney health education understandable, accessible, and relevant for students and communities.
WHY AWARENESS MATTERS
More than 1 in 7 U.S. adults may have chronic kidney disease, and as many as 9 in 10 adults with CKD do not know they have it. Education can help people understand kidney health, recognize major risk factors, and make informed decisions about their health.
How We Turn Knowledge Into Action
Kidney Equity Initiative transforms evidence-based kidney health information into accessible education designed for students, schools, and communities.
School Education
Interactive lessons help students understand kidney function, chronic kidney disease risk factors, prevention, and the importance of early awareness.
Community Outreach
Community-based programs make kidney health education more accessible through workshops, educational materials, and locally relevant outreach.
Educator & Student Leadership
Training and resources equip educators and student leaders to deliver evidence-based kidney health education within their own communities.
FLAGSHIP PROGRAM
